Biography
Christian G. Chaussy Treated after 5 years of intensive pre-clinical and clinical research at the University of Munich on February 7th 1980 the first patient worldwide with ESWL. From 1984 – 1986 he was Professor of Urology and Head of the Stone Center at UCLA . He left this tenure position in 1986 to become Chairman of the Department of Urology Klinikum Harlaching in Munich. In 1996 he started the use of HIFU for the treatment of localized Prostate Cancer. 2011/12 he was President of the Endourological Society and is currently holding a position as Consultant Professor at the Department of Urology, University of Regensburg and as Clinical Professor of Urology at the Keck School of Medicine, USC.
